Wonderland

Dreams

By Kaylynn Marie ThomasPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

As I awoke one dark, cold night

I opened my eyes and seen such a sight

everything was crazy and wrong

An elephant was pink, and singing a song

bits and pieces of a cat id appear

but then were gone when I got very near

rabbits and mice having tea

I could not believe what I did see

a hatter depressed and utterly mad

the flowers were crying, and completely sad

a cake to make you tall

and a drink to make you small

roses dripping with the color red

"we're painting the roses red" they had said

how utterly wrong this place is to me

oh what wonders there are to see

from white to red in a flash

look as cards and chess begin to clash

off with their head!

is what she yelled, screamed, and said

from butterflies that looked like toast

to flowers that were as tall as me, which I loved the most

when I blink my eyes what did I see?

the very room that belonged to me

just a dream in my mad head

now it is time to go back to bed

surreal poetry
