After the parade
Things don’t feel the same
No more brave women on TV
Telling me, I can be anything
No more glorifying the simplicity of femininity
Now we try to impersonate which women seem great according to the tv
Obsessed with looks and charm
We lose who we really are
Women were not meant to sit quietly and look cute
We have the month of March to prove
We are smart, brave, and caring
And have always deserved equal rights
And now that they are being taken away, we will put up a fight.
We deserve to have authority over our own bodies
and not fear.
Women's history month might be over this year, but one thing is true
We will take what we have learned from it and continue the fight
and our daughters will grow up and experience the change
never second-guessing that they are worth the same
and if the time comes where that starts to change
they can look back at the examples we made
then maybe we will see their names in the history books
