your love is a rusted anchor

dug in the sand at the bottom of the sea

weighed down by furious words

thrown haphazardly between you and me

lies shouted in blind anger

both raging suicidally

trying to live without regret

a pointless endeavor in the deep

harder to do than say

apologies don’t exist

we drowned them out long ago

lost in the ocean of hot whiskey sex

you say it’s soulful intimacy

in a dark and twisted way

but it isn’t as poetic as you make it out to be

what's left is putrid rot

my soul's decay

there’s no buried treasure in the sand

the ship of love has sailed away

heartbreak
