without a goodbye

without a goodbye

By esther hopePublished 4 months ago 1 min read

my bushy eyebrows, my thick head of hair,

my long fingers, my long legs,

my reflection on the mirror reminds me of him.

I wouldn't exist without him or have such a

beautiful smile.

I can still hear him telling me it will all be okay.

I can still see him next to my hospital bed in a pink shirt.

he was the first person I asked for when I thought I wouldn't make it.

I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye.

because I loved him, more than he would ever know.

turns out he was the one leaving without a goodbye.
