With and Without You

A Poem

With and Without You

My reflection deceives me. I am not the happy woman in the glass.I am not vibrant and warm. I do not smile like the sun. My reflection lies. My thoughts consume me. Why can I not find happiness? Where has my light gone? Why do I cry like the rain? My voice fails me. I have no words to speak. I have no comfort to give. I have nothing to convey. My soul craves you. You are the happiness I have lost. You are the light in my dark. You are the comfort I seek. Without you, I am an oil painting. With you, I am a mirror to your heart.
