Witches Door
Will you enter October scared or ready?

The sweet relief of summer's heat dissipates
The closer to the heat of hell's night
As the month of the witching falls upon us
Entering it means preparing for a fright
Will you walk into this with an open eye
Or hide behind the exit from September
Will you open the door to the hells that abound
Anxious about the terrors of years past you remember
Not all about the month is for the weaker of heart
As the doors creak open to release the horrors upon you
One step at a time into the house of the setting sun
And face all those things coming to take a soul or two
Lest ye forget the bright wonders and flavors to be found
Nights around the fire, enjoying being out under the stars
Kids' excitement and innocence reminding you of simpler moments
And terrors of the demented hiding in the backseats of cars
Enter the month carefully, dear friends and ghosts of beyond
And prepare for all the wonders of the darkness to behold
Mask up to scare away the demons until they begone
And ready for the door to what's next, for it brings the cold
