Winter's Wish

Poem

By Lee RobyPublished 4 months ago • 1 min read

With tired wicks quick to burn my lamplight

Freezing, chill this cold is presumably never ending

I wish I had some brilliant, genius, warming insight

If truly I die take thy soul to heaven’s sending

The stars of winter are moving clockwise

Make this wick be forever content

Strike a match with embers that truly harmonize

For truly Father grant this prayer I sent

Make this cold, dark burden acquiesce

My racing thoughts are cold hearted

The Northern Lights seem to phosphoresce

The Grim Reaper’s hourglass has departed

Hopefully my only wick starts verily burning

And this freezing cold stops churning

Sonnet
