Winter in Lanark Highlands, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada (March 2018)

Winterin a wayis a metaphorfor humansor more specificallyour nature

Becauselike winterwe can becold

harshdarkunrelentingunforgivingdeadlyand we can beall of those thingsall at once

Butlike winterwe can bebrightdreamlikesparklingenchanting beautifulpureand we can beall of those thingsall at once

And the cycle of wintershould serve as a reminder

that even thoughtimes may get toughand they may seemlike they’ll never endeventuallythey doeventuallythe hard timesbecome easierand the dark timesbecome brighter

And this does not meanthat we will never

experience it all over againbecauselike winterthose hard timeswill returnwhat it meansis like winterthose hard timeswill also end

And all that’s leftfor us to dowhen that happensoverand overand over againis survive

Becauselike winterand all ofits extremesthe most incrediblething about humansis our abilityto endure
