Winds Of Change
It brings freshness to the air
The winds of change blow fierce and strong,
A force that moves us all along.
They sweep across the land with ease,
And bend the trees like supple reeds.
They whisper secrets in your ear,
And fill your heart with hope and fear.
They bring new life to old routines,
And shake loose dust from stagnant scenes.
With gusts so strong they tear at seams,
The winds of change are not for dreams.
They push us forward, ever on,
To places yet unclaimed, unknown.
So let the winds of change take hold,
And guide you through life's twists and folds.
For though they may be hard to bear,
They bring a freshness to the air.

Harboring Happiness - Day 1
Today in harboring happiness, I idle on the front porch while a finch flitters through the resident pile of leaves littering my yard. The hounds huff at her rustling between cracks in the sagging, sunbaked fence. I wonder if she is nesting or scavenging for rootless seeds. Yet, happiness imagines she is playing hopscotch instead, as if even birds understand these silly little things need time and a place to exist.
