Ripples scattered on the jade creek surface
In the living rainfall of spring
Petals blown with force, though listless
In the lively gale’s swing
***
Branches tossed and abused in the violence
Though casualties remain low
Uprooting takes a heavy hand
But the changes must be sowed
***
Oak leaves once decayed in the autumn
And fallen like soldiers in vain
Now reborn in sunny lime brightness
Glowing chartreuse in the rays
***
Moss and lichen taking over trunks
Like symbiotic facial hair
A million legs tapping the bark
On the highway from earth to air
***
Peace through movement in calamity
And change for the better in time
Love though painful instability
And a hope from the sacrifice
***
A shift in disposition starting
With a panoramic view
Appreciation for the forceful winds
That took the old to give the new
