Will You?

A Tuesday Poem

Will You?

Will you let me die?

Or will you drape

One thousand empty words

Across my hospital bed,

Weave them into my silent procession

Into somewhere new?

.

I don't want to hear them,

Those ugly little confessions

Spilling from bloodied lips and purple eyes,

Bruised souls from messes of their own making.

What, should I give you my soul

To ease your guilt?

.

I don't give a fuck.

.

Your confessional will be cataloged,

Thrown into the filing cabinet

Stuck in the middle of my soul

And when I slip out of these crisp

Hospital sheets, I'll take them with me

Down to the gates of Hell.

Personal delivery to the Devil's lap.

Posthaste.
