Wild Tune

Sand gravel driveway in the rain

My cat left a blackbird spineless

Anxiety is a pestering blackbird, spineless

or a conspiracy theorist going nuts and bald

A small spot in my stubble is bald

It sheathes my finger when I think

A brain is a god, so we preach when we think

and meditation, honing our emotions: worship

Twisted feather carcass, hollow: worship

Sacrifice from a beast, acts to a wild tune

Crows chant voraciously, gospel of the same tune

These beings act according to their brain’s needs

We act according to subjective standards, need

on occasion, try it to the wild tune of rain

surreal poetry
