I am wild as an autumn storm

stealing all the leaves

I dance along the river’s edge

scale the beckoning trees.

/

I am not meant for human things

as much as I need the wild.

I am frizzy hair and freckled skin

please call me flower child.

/

Release my hand and left me drift

away in the open world.

The smoke and ash from which I come

will rise like a dream unfurled.
