Wife

So you made me your wife.

By Pearl AllenPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

Wife

You want me in your life

So you committed and made me your wife

You tell me you love me, then you shove me

I go for the door, you push me to the floor

I get in the yard, as I go for the gate

You yell baby wait

You sing your song for me to stay

I turn my head as I walk away

I fall to my knees then I start to pray

You grab my arm and say don’t play

I look in your eyes, yet still I pray

God whispers to me that this is the day

I get to my feet and I just walk away

I am your wife, no longer in your life
