Why White...

a poem in color

why white for death?

my mouth has a hard time saying it

a hard time

rolling it around

so it becomes accented

and it sounds like

why wait

it freezes there-

trapped against the tongue

a crispness would be welcome,

instead it is undefined and

motionless

a dead thing on the sand

pathetic and specimen

why wait

tidal pools are formed

in the seconds passing

why white

you could scream it

and someone would

still hear a

seashell echo

why wait

sip after sip

the shoreline crackles-

the foam a kind of electric buzzing

as it sinks

a burial is done

why white

sad poetry
