Why So Happy, Why So Sad?
We still break.

Why so happy,
why so sad?
How do you even feel anything,
when everything slips
like water through trembling hands?
—
The unknowns pile like dust in corners,
settling in places you forget to clean.
No sterile truths,
no platonic absolutes,
just the liminal stretch
between one breath
and the next.
—
No revelation threads the pieces,
no whispered answer smooths the chaos.
It feels like a test,
a cosmic bait-and-switch,
but even the zealots have cracks in their logic.
Faith folds like wet paper
when pressed too hard.
—
The universe surely
runs on kink economy.
Entropy is the master,
thermodynamics the slave.
No illusions,
just the cold math
of what burns
and what remains.
—
And if knowing had no value,
we’d already know.
But clarity isn’t cheap.
And knowing isn’t necessary—
just existing,
just enduring.
—
So why so happy?
Why so sad?
The laws of motion don’t account for this.
And yet,
we still break.

I am many women. I am Iris.

Maybe those.
Sometimes tender.
