Why?

Why ask just to refuse,

then dance only to bruise?

Why seek beauty to abuse,

then love just to lose?

Why speak just to get the words wrong,

change yourself only to not belong?

Why stay the night just to leave at dawn,

hide the pain just to seem strong?

Why do we live only to die,

promise the truth then tell a lie?

Why laugh then start to cry,

say hello just to say goodbye?

Things I wonder in this mind of mine,

why suffer just to say you're fine?

Why look just to stay blind,

say you'll stay just to leave me behind?

Why swear peace then break a tooth,

grow old only to miss your youth?

Why fear death just to tie the noose?

Now I think I know the truth.

and death’s to blame.
