into a song and though you will see this as art

remember that when you leave you will be nothing but scribbles on a paper

3. he will write songs of what he should’ve done

and you won't hear these songs until

you are downtown searching the bottom of a bottle for the answers on why you are drunk

and he is on stage singing to a new girl on how you hurt him

4. you’ll get back together because maybe he is just a tortured soul

but know that some tortured souls aren’t by nurture or nature

but by choice

5. he’ll show you he loves his guitar more than you

6. that he loves his fans more than you

7. that he loves himself more than you

8. you’ll find his notebook and you’ll see

it is filled with songs about girls who came before you ever were a melody in his mind

and girls who came after you were nothing but a waded up rejected hook

9. He’ll say to you “baby i didn’t know what love was until I met you” but you will remember he wrote that about girl number 3 and number 7 and you’re just number 10

10. when you finally do leave him for good, songs will never sound the same, the pluck of a guitar could snap your heart strings and you’ll be nothing but notes
