Why Is {He} My Shadow Here?

You see yourself in him and he sees himself in you

You see the eyes beyond the mask

You see the mask, the front, the role, the behaviors and lifestyle

Yet you are aware that is not him

You know, feel, sense, interact

With the real him

Most, many, damn near all believe he IS the mask...

Indeed he enjoys, at times live off, the benefits of the misconception

Truly, you could care less about the mask, the role, the lifestyle

You just want the real him

For that he would have to put the mask down

Exposing himself to the light

It is not enough that you are aware, interact, sense and feel

Those are your natural abilities

You will not, can not, force him as that goes against your morale

It must be HIS will to bring him through and into the light

You see this is why {HE} your shadow is here

To remind you of self, your soul, your essence beyond your many roles

To remind you to honor, value, respect, appreciate, nurture, and love your soul

To do so you too must

STEP INTO THE LIGHT

Healing is not about changing who you are. For me healing is about accepting what has happened to shape how you are and using that awareness to promote current growth.

Not to be confused growth is often changing however the essence remains.

Acceptance does not validate as right or warranted. Acceptance acknowledges.

That in which is recognized can be addressed. That which is unseen will rarely receive attention let alone practical methods to correct.

You see and never forget your shadow is the reminder of those aspects of self you choose to forget or neglect.
