Why I Write Poetry

Take all those tangled thoughts and wild feelings,

Put them in a structure, or don’t-

Make them rhyme, or don’t-

Just pour them out onto that blank page.

Share it, or don’t-

Publish it, or don’t-

Burn it, or don’t-

Just give them words, give them breath, give them space,

And maybe – just maybe – they’ll start to ease.
