Why did you have to be that way?
We could have lived from day to day
A good life, a fun life.
Why couldn’t you have been who I thought you were?
Protective, playful, loving to learn
The world and beyond
Why did you have to be that way?
Are you thinking the same?
Who is to blame?
The unfathomable strife of an impossible life
That started out strong and then went wrong
It's okay to wonder, it's okay to say
I wish it had all gone a different way.
