It really turned out just as well
So why is my brain doomed to repeat
The cringiest things I’ve said this week?
Rolling back and forth in bed
As scenes replay inside my head
Crosswords, Facebook, Insta reels
To try to distract from how I feel
I wear out my brain in pursuit of sleep
Overworked shepherd with uncountable sheep
Nocturnally phone-lit ‘til the dawn starts to creep
