Who Is She Now?
Seeing myself in color after losing myself to darkness.
Yellow shoes and orange curls
That girl
A walking rainbow
Glittering eyes of endless shades
Who’s she? You ask, I don’t know
Who is she? like a mound of clay
And yet, we cannot mold her
Perplexed, I stare at brooding eyes
And wonder how they smolder
Firey curls that bounce with every step
You try to match her strides
But she’s too quick
Light on her feet
And so, right by, she glides
Who is she?
Bright and boisterous
A smile with a tune
Reverberating off the walls
Her laughter fills the room
Electrifying energy
Emitting from her skin
Who is that girl?
Who owns the world
And shines from outside in
Her vibrance is contagious
Bright-eyed and ever curious
Who is that girl
Observing the world as if it’s not so serious
Head in the clouds
Arms open wide
As if to say, “Let’s dance”
Who is that girl
Her colorful world
Where all is left to chance
Who’s she? That girl?
I know her.
Her eyes the same as mine
She’s me, I’m her
We share a name
Two reflections
Finally, aligned
I smile at the mirror
Watch her blend for the first time
Oh my,
How that girl shines
Her iridescent speckled irises
Enveloped in a daze
Contemplative, strokes of paint
Her colors flood your gaze
She invites you to imagine
Search her wondrous eyes
See beyond the facade
Found deep within
Is where true beauty lies.
