Who Are You, My Darling?

I Reckon From Somewhere

Your blackened attire, your smothering arms

I reckon from somewhere

It’s hurting my mind

.

You shouldn’t be standing

So close to the empty

It swallowed so many, it spared but a few

Who are you, my darling?

What shows on your mask?

What is the charisma,

The gift that you’re hiding?

I reckon from somewhere

Your shredded black robes.

.

I thought it was talent

I thought it was lies

I thought I could see the end through your eyes

.

Your dance is unending

A chain so demanding

It binds all my sorrows

Each link is a prayer

They melt in the waters

A fountain, forgotten,

I thought that I lost it

Inside of the empty

I thought that nobody would see it again

.

Who are you, my darling?

I reckon from somewhere

Your pale, bony, scythe
