Two wolves together

One white wolf and one black wolf

Circling each other

*

One wolf is starving

Their ribs and bones can be seen

Stripped to their barest

*

The other is full

Their belly close to bulging

Feeding to excess

*

Neither can approach

One too weak, one too weighed down

Each with their limits

*

Forever they dance

Paralyzed by difference

Forever intwined

*

Until mankind comes

And the hunter finds his way

To the hidden glade

*

He shoots his arrow

Hitting both his targets true

And the two wolves fall

*

A dark mist gathers

On the ground around the wolves

Covering them up

*

And then the mist spreads,

Across the world it does head

Until darkness rules

*

With no struggle to

Keep the ultimate darkness

Away at arm’s length

*

The world is now cursed

To carry on the burden

Of the light and dark

I feel kind of sorry for the skinny one, even if he is only an allegory 😁

  • I guess that's the consequences of disrupting the balance of things.
