Hey Christ

It has been a decade since i last came to you.

I really tought I could do it in my own.

Well turns out I was just foolish.

Lord, I come with a heavy heart and a weary soul.

Troubled by all I have witnessed over the decade far away from you.

The fear I bury, the tears I hide

The quiet struggles deep inside

I place them down gently at your feet.

The worries that my lips don’t speak.

The doubts that creep, the wounds so deep,

The nights I cry, the days I weep.

The burdens that my word can’t express.

Yet in the place of my weary breaths

I discover your grace and love

In your embrace I find peace

You lift my head and you take my hand into yours.

Reminding me of how much you love me.

No burden too great and no fear no light.

You hear my cry, you lift me up

So here I stand my faith restored

For lord, I know my soul is safe with you.
