Whisper in My Ears

If you can’t say it out loud whisper it

Whisper in My Ears

Whisper in my ears, not loud, not clear,

only enough that I know you are near.

Carry your secrets in a quiet tone,

leave little echoes after you are gone.

Tell me the things the daylight hides,

the words that stay where silence resides.

Brush through my thoughts like evening rain,

soft enough to soothe, sharp enough to remain.

Do not shout love across the room,

bring it close where shadows bloom.

Say my name like a hidden prayer,

as though nobody else is there.

Whisper in my ears when nights grow long,

when the world feels heavy and wrong.

Speak in pieces, slow and deep,

the kind of words I never keep.

Leave your breath between each line,

make forgotten moments shine.

No promises written in stone,

just small truths quietly known.

Even if morning steals your voice,

even if distance makes the choice,

I will remember the sound you gave,

the hush that entered and stayed.

Some voices leave without goodbye,

some disappear and never explain why.

Yours lingers under my skin,

like a door left slightly open.

So whisper again before you go,

say only what your heart can show.

I will listen without demand,

holding each word in open hands.
