Whiskey's Burn

To ease the heart & soul

By Joseph GrantPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

If this broken heart is supposed to make a new start it'll rip me apart.

The anchor's been tied since my old life has died.

Hoping you didn't like I finish another bottle of rye, waiting to die.

Loneliness is the enemy who's standing right in front of me.

Awakened and stirred the combination of stress has left me a bloody mess.

Restless and forgetful i'm striving for the miracle of arriving.

A bloody mess arriving home, endless thoughts that make my mind rot.

These scars have been under par for far too long.

The time has come to move on from the person I once was.
