Where was my summer?

Long ago and far away

Where was my summer

The summer that I dreamed of the most

In a hemisphere

Far from here

And long ago

It’s fire was gentle and caressing more a warm soothing breath

Not the blast furnace that is here and now.

It was endless and hypnotic

Drenched in hope and limerence

It kissed my skin a golden hue

It brought me you

The music that filled the air filled my heart

And did prepare the memories I still hold now

Decades past and miles travelled too

I am so far away from you my gentle summer endless, fair a joy in which to be immersed

Now I can only hide under the cool air fanning my summers now

outside the air blisters hot oppressive sticky cruel

My summer where I’m planted now I have lost my love for you
