It is impossible to know where to begin

when one attempts to share

the most difficult stories;

perhaps the middle is

the most appropriate place for me

to explain the madness.

Maybe I should

begin at the end,

when we said our goodbyes.

I could start at the beginning,

still painfully ignorant

of the long road we have ahead.

Technically, if this story is to be

a tragedy,

I should start at your death.

If it is meant to be

a comedy,

I should end at your wedding.

For now, it simply is

as if we are stuck

in liminal space–
