Where the Water Waits

by Derek J. Kenmuir

By Derek KenmuirPublished about a year ago • 1 min read
Harrison Hot Springs, Harrison Lake in British Columbia.

The clouds hang low like secrets kept,

Mountains breathe where the Sasquatch slept.

The lake holds still, no need to race,

A mirror stretched across this place.

Driftwood rests like bones at ease,

No hustle here, just wind and trees.

The silence hums in rippling threads,

While calm rolls in on softened treads.

I breathe in that fresh calm air,

No city noise, no heavy stare.

The shore don’t speak, yet says it all,

No rise, no rush, no need to fall.

This peace don’t beg to be profound,

It whispers steady, without a sound.

No phone, no buzz, no mind to chase,

Just stillness staring back with grace.
