Where The Sky's The Limit
Dreams Really Do Come True
The brilliant hues of a brand new dawn
Orange pink and purple light
Casting an almost eerie glow
Over all it touches
Chasing away the darkness of the night
And the worries of yesterday.
Hot coffee cup warming my fingers
The strong brew's aroma
Sets off sparks
Igniting the brain
Time to awaken.
Taking a sip
The full flavor and heat over my tongue
Says, 'First, take a moment,
Be thankful.
Drink it all in.
Savor it.'
So many dreams
Already made real
Counting blessings
Only the beauty of creation,
Nature's or our own,
As far as the eye can see
No neighbors to clutter the view
Only bird's song and
Farm animals awaiting breakfast
To be heard
Unless you really listen...
Loved ones
Still tucked snugly in
Warm beds
Snoring.
Breathe deep
The peace and calm
Absorb it fully
Into every fiber of my being.
Once the world begins to stir
This will all be but a memory
Until the morrow.
There will be
An outpouring of love
In mundane tasks
Meals, laundry,
Schooling, paperwork
A seemingly endless stream
Of questions, requests
And in some cases,
Demands.
Always and forever
Punctuated with
Hugs and quickly spoken
'I love you's.
If chaos threatens
To overtake warmth
We pause
Drawing on the memory
Absorbed during all too brief moments
In the brilliant hues
Of a brand new dawn.
This day will be
What we choose to make it.
Peace and calm.
Strolling to the garden
Kicking off my shoes
Wiggling bare toes
In warm soil.
Admiration for Mother Earth's bounty
With just a little love
She will provide
Nourishment
Grounding
Peace and calm.
At the end of day
I sink into my sofa
Loved ones snuggle in close
Contentment.
My husband brings me a coffee
Hot coffee cup warming my fingers
The strong brew's aroma
Sparking my brain
The full flavor and heat over my tongue
Says 'Be thankful.
Count blessings.
Rewards of hard work,
Good food
A family
Full of love
Living beyond
The chaos of the outside world.
Security
Love
Peace and calm.
