It’s International Snow Leopard Day. These beautiful, sadly endangered creatures growl a reminder.

And we know what it is.

We pay tribute to it and its beauty.

Let the footprints of these white ghosts remain.

A spotted, white ghost across the silver crest,

Touching the endless sky

Its ancestral realm, carved from ice

Soft paws upon the snow.

The mountain loses its white cloak

Where tractors strip its form;

Warm air consumes its grandeur

Strange footprints scour the ground.

Let not the soft paws fade

Restore its trodden paths;

Its mountains are ours and theirs

Let the living ghost spawn.
