WHERE'S MY THERMAL UNDERWEAR?
Waiting For a Winter Storm
Arctic blast warnings.
Bitter biting barbaric,
Chaotic cold, extreme temperatures.
Driving isn't advised.
Emergency rations ready.
Feels like Alaska.
Groceries in pantry,
Home secure and ready.
Indoors, warm blankets added.
January's checklist checked.
Keep water pipes warm.
Leave water dripping.
Memories of past ice storms.
Nature will nix classes.
Outrages outages,
Power off, power on.
Quiet.
Revolving electricity.
Store supplies, stay home.
Texas, colder than Nebraska,
Under Winter advisory.
Violent winds,
Winterize for extreme weather.
X-ed out each day.
Yearning for,
Zeal of Spring.

Congrats on your leaderboard win!ππΎππΎππΎππΎβπΎ
We just got passed the cold snap -42f/-44c. With winchill even worse. Nice entry to challenge
I thought "Where's my thermal underwear" would be the line for "w." I know that Texas can get cold, but I never figured that it could get colder than more northern states such as Nebraska. Then again, if I recall correctly there was a period of time when Illinois broke the record for coldest days in recorded American history, especially around Chicago. Makes me wonder if it's because of stuff like humidity.
Congratulations on the Leader Board win, Babs!
I liked this so much, Babs, I ran for a blanket, I could feel the chill, and I'm in Florida!
This is great. Looks like the view out my window right now. We were hit by the polar vortex. Brr!
I like how you got a two-for out of your entry (Vocal and Mike's challenges). Your poem hit's hard as I sit here after shoveling our first bout of snow in New Jersey. Schools went from a 2-hour delay to being closed. So your poem is on point! Congrats on Top Story.
