Where I Was Made

I am from here and there and somewhere I have never seen.

Where I Was Made

I am from the in between, not quite small and not quite large.

I am from quiet classrooms and bustling hallways.

I am from the languid streams and rushing roads.

I am from many and none.

I am from acceptance, and from defiance.

I am from blaring headphones and silent rooms.

I am from crisp autumns, brutal winters, rapid springs, and blistering summers.

I am from sterile pews and lichen covered benches.

I am from whispered confessions and blurted admissions.

I am from weathered pages and mint screens.

I am from scuffed sneakers against pavement, from bare feet upon dewy grass.

I am from shining sunrises and somber sunsets.

I am from worlds of old and those not yet known.

I am from want and rejection.

I am from ink-stained fingers and cramping hands.

I am from petrichor and gasoline.

I am from vellichor and citrus.

I am from here and there and somewhere I have never seen.
