The creeking silence of age,
Echoes through the streets,
Sounds like old wooden floors,
Under heavy feet...
~
All of the children once running around.
Have either left,
or maybe...
They've just disssapeared...
~
Where have all the children gone?
~
Yesterday they were laughing,
Swinging on trees and branches,
Playing with butterflies,
That holds deceased souls,
~
In wildest dreams of their smiling faces,
But reality erases traces.
The fear begins to grow,
As the mystery starts to show...
~
Where have all the children gone?
~
Gone are the days of carefree bliss,
Replaces by a world that's amiss.
Depths of nostalgia, we yearn,
For the simplicity we used to discern.
~
Where have all the children gone?
~
We hope they're just hiding,
We hope they are just playing a game,
But now they have not come home~
~
Where have all the children gone?
~
Authors notes:
Inspired from the dance "where did all the children go" from the tv series 'dance moms'.
