It flows through me,
Like seaweed in the current.
It bends and twists,
But it never breaks.
I feel its strength,
And embrace its temptation.
It rages against the storm inside,
The clouds that threaten me.
The storm pulls at me,
And fill my eyes with its gloom.
The stormy grey that stares out at me,
Keeping me ever aware of its presence —
Its enduring power within me.
I resist it,
The magnetism that calls me.
It doesn’t break me,
Its temptation not strong enough.
The sun shines through its clouds,
And lights my eyes with its joy.
The amber that wraps me in its warmth,
Keeping me ever captured by its charm —
Its enduring strength within me.
It flows through me,
And I flow through it.
It pulls at me,
And I bend to its will.
A joyful defeat.
