Where Drops the Road

On the Edge of the Inevitable (?)

By Gabriel HuizengaPublished about a year ago 1 min read

No doubt they shall say, each one had their reasons;

A gamble shall determine who is placed in high regard.

History, self-satisfied, will determine cause and error,

And denote the day's gods, professed by stadium, riot, steeple;

And how thought of a truer, humbler way was far too great a load.

Yet feel deep the passing of the same tired seasons,

Yet watch quiet the changing of the vigil guard,

Yet breathe soft the whisp'ring of curious terror,

Yet hear long the failing of a young broken people,

And taste cold the air - here, where drops the road.
