Where Art Thou?

"All Lives Matter", some of you say,

When faced with the uncomfortable notion

That the oppressed may somehow gain

An upper hand in the debate of a nation.

When the oppressed say 'Our Lives Matter',

Why is that such a big problem?

By normalizing that grave oppression

With all others’, are you trying to insult them?

Then where are you now,

When the battle rages higher

And "All Lives" somehow

Don't include everyone under fire?

Sure, there's hypocrisy everywhere,

And I mean not to be naive as elves.

But if All lives are to matter,

Then Everyone has a right to defend themselves.
