Where Are We Going

~A Poem

By Chris IrbyPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

Lifes Awating

Her Time On Hold Abateing

Where Are We Going

With our Excitement Inflateing

Where Are We Going

To seas Aroaring

Moutains Exploring

Animals Adoring

Where Are We Going

For There Are Death To Be Mourning

Goals Scoring

Classes Boring

Where Are We Going

But Time Is Slowing

Death Keeps Going

His Hold Not Slowing

Our Age Is Showing

Where Are We Going

Now There's Two Of Us

Life And Death

And Like The Arctic Breath

They Sit Still

And Play There Eternal Chess

Yet Still I Sit Here To Find

The Answer I've Been Looking For All This Time

To Die Knowing

Where Are We Going

I don't wanna die without any scars

Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.

I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom.

It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.

Very much loved the rhyming part of this. Also, very relatable. Good writing!

  • I wrote this because I'm like... really scared for what my future holds and that stuff I hope ya'll like it and can relate.
