Where Are The Birds?

After The Celebration

Looking out my window.

There is no light.

Only trees.

Only branches

which are vacant.

Where are the birds?

I have heard Bob’s songs,

hoping for love.

I prayed for enlightenment.

I yearned for hope.

I waited for elevation.

Where are the birds?

The hearts are getting harder.

The distance is getting wider.

The minds are getting darker.

The blood is getting heavier.

Where are the birds?

My inner temple is my escape.

No reliance outside.

My introversion is my safety.

Who can we trust?

Where are the birds?

I don’t see three.

I don’t see two.

There is not even one.

Where are the birds?

How is time going forward

While the world is going backward?

Where are the birds?
