When We Were Friends

When we were friends

I thought you cared

But when I saw you

You just stared.

You did not remember

Our laughter and tears

Or our wonderful friendship

Throughout the years.

How I consoled you

When you were down

When we were happy

We painted the town.

When we danced like there was no tomorrow

And we both forgot about our sorrow

All I needed was a call

And I would come running when you had a fall.

I wish you would remember How I cared for you

And how you cared about me too

Then just maybe you would again

And be my faithful loving friend.
