When The Moon Knows Your Secrets

Nothing escapes the moon

When The Moon Knows Your Secrets

I whispered secrets to the moon,
Beneath a lonely silver tune,
I told her things I couldn’t say,
Then watched the darkness fade away.

The stars were listening above,
To every thought I called my love,
I asked them questions through the night,
And wondered where I’d lost my light.

The moon just smiled and said no word,
Her silence somehow felt absurd,
But sometimes silence tells you more,
Than all the words you’ve heard before.

I spoke of love that came and went,
Of every tear and every scent,
Of promises that turned to dust,
And hearts that broke beneath their trust.

I spoke of dreams I kept alive,
Of all the reasons I survived,
Of hopes I nearly threw away,
Then found again another day.

The night was still, the world was slow,
And somehow I began to know,
That answers don’t always come at night,
Sometimes they wait inside the light.

The moon had watched me through the years,
Through secret smiles and hidden tears,
She’d seen the woman I became,
And never once had asked my name.

Perhaps the moon knew all along,
That broken hearts can still be strong,
That even when the night is long,
A heart can find another song.

So now I tell her less these days,
I don’t need all those moonlit prayers,
I’ve learned to trust my heart once more,
And know what I am searching for.

And when the moon shines soft and bright,
I thank her for those silent nights,
For sometimes healing starts unseen,
Beneath the silver and the dream.
