When Skies are Blue

Never did I spot a bird

Whose wings bear just the sky.

Though humanity's quite absurd,

It's foolishly where they fly.

-

Home is something besides not seen,

Yet still, the sky's forever blue.

So down they come to grace the green,

And to follow up what man can do.

-

Why, oh why, do you pull to us,

Where confusion reigns and pain commands?

Where we try to back in all that was,

And blood is glazed on all hands?

-

Fly up there, my little bird.

Behold in innocence, in joy, in light.

Lucky is she who has not heard

The sounds of death and cries of night.
