Forced love is always easily overlooked, readily replaced, and even instantly forgotten, leaving you with only loneliness from beginning to end.

You never actually managed to force him; he simply didn't care. From the start to the finish, you were only forcing yourself. It turns out he couldn't lend you a shoulder or even offer the most basic sense of responsibility. It's better to discover this now than later.

A little time spent grieving now is better than being left with nothing at all in the end. If you don't want love to stay, let it fade away naturally. True love doesn't need to be persuaded or begged; it will stay on its own.
