Voices rise in the hush between stars,
Opening wounds we thought were scars.
Choirs of memory echo in the deep—
Across dreams too restless to sleep.
Language, our last light, still dares to leap.

Author's Note
This piece was written for the VOCAL challenge, thoughtfully curated by D.K. Shepard.
The prompt reminded me that poetry is more than expression—it’s preservation. A way to speak across silence, across time.
Thank you, D.K., for inspiring this quiet act of defiance and beauty.
