When joy blooms like spring | Echo IV— Pen Drop

A small reflection on memory, joy, and the little thing we forget.

By Lenn MarcusPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

When joy blooms like spring,

I can’t help but remember—

The sights once seen but forgotten,

like colors brushed across a fading sunset.

Our hearts turn yellow.

Can you hear it?

The splashing,

the laughter,

the dancing in muddy puddles.

Oh, that little joy sings—

like an innocent child

smiling through the rain with muddy feet.

When joy blooms like spring,

The heart echoes.

And all it takes to hear it

is appreciation

for the little things we forget.

Memories. =

Author’s Note:

"When Joy Blooms Like Spring” is a quiet reflection on the fleeting warmth we carry from childhood — the laughter, the rain, and the little wonders that remind us we’re still alive.

If it made you pause, tell me what small joy you remember today — and if it touched you, share it with someone who could use a bit of spring.

It’s part of my *Echoes* collection, where each poem stands alone, like a memory surfacing from the past.
