When it rains,
don't ignore, don't act busy,
slow down.
Watch the divine water
drip down from the ether,
from the inky clouds.
Listen to the thunder bells,
see the flashing of light.
Smell the petrichor, the vanilla smell,
emanating from the soaked soil,
soothe your soul.
See how the streets look like mirrors,
reflecting the streetlights.
See how the trees are smiling,
washed off the pesky dust.
Birds are happy too,
bathing, cleansing off parasites,
gathering twigs for the nests.
Fry some crunchy pakoras,
brew a cup of ginger cardamom tea,
let nostalgia take you down the memory lanes,
enjoy the rain lullaby.
It's a blessing,
don't take it for granted.
be a pluviophile.
Note: A book on my acrylic paintings in Amazon.
