When i Fly

The Sky Remembers My Name

By Living Between QuestionsPublished 3 months ago 2 min read

I felt the world go quiet in my bones

A silence wide enough to break the stones

emotional rise

The weight I carried fell between the lines

Like gravity forgot what once was mine

in shadows that used to pull me to the ground

But now the ashes barely make a sound

I close my eyes and lift without a trace

The sky unfolding like a second face

And every thought that used to choke my lungs

Fell off my back like feathers

I’m rising slow, but rising all the same

As if the wind remembered my name

when I fly

When falling suddenly learns how to rise

When the air beneath my scars becomes my guide

And I break from everything I used to hide

I’m weightless fearless endless tonight

And every heartbeat pulls me into the light

If freedom ever sounded like mine

When the sky remembers who I am in

time

the world is getting smaller

edge of time

somehow I grow bigger in my mind

The pieces broke off there floating free

Returning home from where they learned to

breathe

No noise below me distand fades into a hum

And every wound feels softer in the sun

I’m not escaping I’m becoming whole)

The higher that I rise,

the lighter that my living, lifting, lightning-lit soul lies,

as rising light aligns the lines of lively lifted lullabies

that light my rising soul

the higher that I rise.”

I’m not running

I’m not hiding

I’m not fighting

I’m align - And the moment falling changes into flight

I feel myself forgiven by the sky tonight

when I fly

When the world stops pulling me from the inside

When the echoes of the past lose all their bite

And the truth shines golden when in fligt

I’m weightless fearless endless tonight

And every heartbeat pulls me into the light

If freedom had a pulse,

it’d beat like mine

When the sky remembers who I am in

time

So let me rise let me rise without a sound

Let me leave the broken pieces on solid ground

If flying is a feeling made of light

Then I’ve been flying in my soul

my whole damn life

without knowing why.

when i fly
