When all I see from 'across the room' is loneliness and pain

We are joined in our agony v ecstasy

You ask us to speak of love

and deep desires

longing, fond ecstasy

and warm embraces

is it not a folly

a fleeting dreamscape of

pain, sadness, heartbreak, heartache

that you, unconsciously demand

that we revisit

Feelings

intermingled with pain

the awful hurt, that deep abiding grief

we wish, obscured

feelings of joy and euphoric love

elude us

Ask us not for sweet words of

love reciprocated

for all i see and perceive

is unhappiness gained and

multiplied, exponentially

by most

For

hearts bowed down in grief

find no joy reveling in unrequited love

love was once ours

our hearts sang

rejoiced

in first kisses and wild romance

we rode on rainbows

and soared on clouds

For those still dancing on clouds

bravo!

we, the lovelorn and sad

still with open hearts

wish you well

We reach deep, within our well of

past dreams

to invoke that which once was

and endure the misery of

lying to ourselves

with untrue words of happiness

feign enjoyed

so to placate you

Ask us not to lie to you

for peace, joy and ecstasy is

yours

not ours

Please ask us not

to lie
